I’m a Head Teacher / Senior Leader
Let’s start with something positive; we guarantee that this week, somewhere in
your school, pupils were taking part in lessons or activities that contribute towards
the wider aspects of learning such as Enterprise, WRL, PLTs or SEAL.
Unfortunately - we’re also confident that because you and you’re teachers are so
busy, information about this activity will go un-recorded and no-one will ever get to
know about it.
Imagine if evidence of lessons, projects, clubs, trips, external visitors etc were
recorded in one central place and mapped in a visual grid against a range of
criteria. You’d be able to plan and review more effectiviely. You’d be able to identify
where skills were being omitted or duplicated in the curriculum. You’d even be able
to share this valuable information with fellow managers, parents - even Ofsted!
I know what you’re thinking! It’ll take too much time and be too complicated - and
your staff will shun anything that resembles an ‘audit’. Well, we’ve created a
system that is so simple and easy to use - staff actually enjoy using it!
Finally, there’s one key benefit that deserves a mention. The Grid gathers evidence
of all sorts of activities across the whole school and makes completing the
Ofsted SEF a lot less painful!
